We all naturally have different colors of lips. Ever wondered why is that so? Your lips are actually a kind of indication of your health status. So by determining the color of your lips, it kind of gives you indications of what is happening inside your body, which means that you can know what to do and what to eat to help amend that problem.
They say that your eyes are the windows to your soul but did you know that your mouth is the door to your health? Natural color of your lips change now and then; it is mostly because it reflects different stages of your health at that point in time. I am going to share with you some of the common health concerns relating to the color of your lips.
Pale Lips: If your lips are pale, white or ashy gray, often seen in the movies where people are in a hospital bed and their lips are pale and dry and mostly and most of the time they are weak and fragile. This usually means that you are anemic and your body needs more blood. So you need to up your intake in foods rich in iron like broccoli, red meats and red dates. Another indication that goes along with pale lips is when you have cold hands and feet even though when it is not a winter season. This usually links with your digestive systems and that your stomach might be too cold. So, you need to warm up your stomach with “Yang Foods” like eggs, pumpkin, mango, litchi, pineapple and ham.
Red Lips: If you have super red lips, a lot of the time it is linked with bad breath and craving for snacking. This usually indicates that your body is overheated and your liver and spleen is working overtime. In this case, drink some chrysanthemum tea and opt for vegetables like bitter melon and celery. Honeys is also great for balancing the enzymes, but remember the important thing is to try and sleep before 11 p.m. and don’t stress.
Purple Green Lips: These types of lips are pretty common during the whole winter seasons but when you constantly have it, there you might have a problem. This usually means that there is some sort of a problem with your heart and/or your respiratory system. In these cases, I suggest you see a doctor to seek some professional advice.
Dark Lips: When your lips are dark red leaning towards black, it is linked to your digestive systems. I would suggest to go easy on processed foods, and try and eat things that your stomach can process like sweet potato, tofu, etc. You can also add a little bit of lemon juice to water to help cleanse out any unwanted toxins and kick start your metabolism.
Purple-Black Lip Outline: If you have a dark line around your lips, almost like a natural lip liner but the color is usually purplish black, this might be the indication of imbalance between yin and yang in your body. That means you might be up on the fire and cold at the same time. I know it is super strange but it has happened to me. The best way I found is to make sure that you rest and eat well. Avoid devouring foods during your menstrual cycle and avoid eating spicy and processed foods for a while.
Rosy Pink Lips: If your lips are naturally rosy pink then you are perfectly healthy, so just keep it up. Sometimes you are just born with it. So just embrace it and flaunt it like you own it.
